The “21 Days to Midsummer” 2018

Today is the day, Calooh! Callay!

Welcome to year 8 of “The 21 Days to Midsummer”. For eight years I and a collection of collaborators have delved into our artistic and personal journeys in a public format. It has been a pleasure sharing our adventures, creations, passions and dreams with a number of friends and strangers near and far through the wonders of social media.

This year I invite you to participate again, or for the first time.

Here’s how it works.
For 21 days starting June 1st and ending June 21st take note of your life. From the simple acts like making breakfast, or delving into a book to the intensive like remodeling a house or restoring a painting, acknowledge your journey.
Take these acknowledgments and share them with the Community. Photos, poems, essays, paragraphs and paintings, videos, songs, sculptures and dreams, record your journeys and process’ and share them in any way you desire. Be creative if you dare.
You can share them publicly on Facebook through the group page (The “21 Days to Midsummer”) or Twitter and Tumblr using the hashtag #21midsummer, or submit privately directly to me through email at 21Midsummer@gmail.com
What is my goal in this? To instigate a global community dialogue that savors experience and creativity. Showcasing the vastness of our experiences and giving an opportunity to share the nuances of our day to day for a microcosm of the year. It is my hope that in paying witness to each other’s creativity we open ourselves to catharsis.
Eventually I will share these experiences in a proper documented fashion. Most probably in a gallery setting in three separate locations; Ocala Florida my home and start of my creative adventures, Savannah Georgia the site of my education as an artist, and NYC the area of my professional activities as a creative and where I currently live.

So here I officially invite you to join me and many others in this adventure. And I encourage you to invite others. Build this community of passionate people with me. Go out and adventure or stay still and savor. Find wonder in anything and everything and bring your love to the fray. I challenge you to take note and be passionate. I thank you, and look forward to our journeys.
With love,
Benjamin Frankenberg

Come look at my silly little side project. New home for on old joke. Tasteless but tastes good.

There’s a place beyond words where experience first occurs to which I always want to return. I suspect that whenever I articulate my thoughts or translate my impulses into words, I am betraying the real thoughts and impulses which remain hidden.
